"Ti" is made on the small end of the drum (the
dayan). It is a non-resonant note, which means
that the fingers remain on the head after striking it (the head is
not allowed to resonate).
"Ti" is made with the three lower fingers of the
right hand for a right handed person, or the left hand for a left
handed person (see photo to right).
The fingers slap the head, just above the center point as shown
and then remain pressed against the head after striking it.
